Voices - what readers are saying
"Let me please share how we met first. Charlotte is a newish neighbor to where I live. She and her husband have connected with we longtimers, decades here, walking their dogs. Then we connected with the Women's Resistance. A pink Resistance hat was knitted for Charlotte and she gave me her latest book a bit later. It was right away read at a very special place, a rocker on the front porch of Deering Estate in Miami. As The Last Star was read all I could think about was my oldest son who had just passed nine months earlier. One particular line on page 57 hit hard: "I am your desperation, your inability to protect everything you love." I felt NOT alone in my emotions then. That day the ball was started to buy a bench there in Tyler's honor. An actual bench we had sat together upon.
The second book in the trilogy, Midnight Transit, was read in its entirety on the bench purchased for my son's honor after feeling his presence while reading The Last Star on Deering's porch. The day was warm, salty and breezy, a step from Biscayne Bay at Deering Estate. Midnight Transit also had several lines that knocked my socks off, like "Pain and tears appear as soon as you forget your brilliance," on page 47, and "A fractured heart is the most intact, a heart that isn't fractured is a stone," on page 46. Thanks Charlotte for your healing words." Lynne Showers, USA "I have received my beautifully wrapped little parcel including As Silence Is Your Witness, and gorgeous fragrance. Many thanks for your inspired poetry <3 I have begun finishing my yoga classes with a reading from your book: Winning and Losing, along with Would you be Lost? are the poems I have shared so far and they have been well received, in fact a number of students have asked to know more about this Charlotte Brady....we are equally thrilled to have your poetry inviting us to enquire a little deeper. Perhaps you will be sending more books this way soon :D " Karen Gunter, founder of Yoga Garage, Australia "This book makes your life understandable in a very beautiful way. Over and over again. A mustread!!!" Teresia Björk, Sweden "Since I got this book it hasn't left my side. It gives me comfort when I feel alone and courage to look forward." Jana Higginbottom, USA "Love your writing, Charlotte! It always grounds and inspires me. Thank you for sharing your gift." Vera Holschneider, Germany "Charlotte Brady always reaches me when I need it the most, she teaches me that in the middle of surrender and selflessness there is play and passion, that love is a way of being, that we can. I mirror myself deeply in her. This book is a gift that will never end. I am so grateful." Joel Andersson, Sweden "Charlotte is gifted in the ways we need so desperately!" Rhonda Mahaffey, USA "Engaging so many senses, perfect and it fits in your pocket. I read it on the train. A true delight and moving work." Sylvia Parker Maier, USA "I am happier, I smell better and I read two poems about love. Better than most days." Tara Clivio, Jamaica |
