Charlotte Brady was born in Sweden, where her first book of poems, Och den fula ängelen föll, was published in 1997.That same year, she left Sweden for New York. She worked as an editor for the literary magazine Mudfish where she also published photography and short stories in English.
In 2000, her second book of poems, Villfarelser, was published. In 2004, Brady moved to Jamaica with her family. She continued to write in both languages and published short stories in The Jamaica Observer and The Gleaner.
In 2006, her first novel, Detaljernas tämjare, was published.
In 2009 she moved to Barbados and in 2012, on a whim, Brady and her family moved to Miami. There, her poetry (now exclusively in English)found a home with Anterior Books and editor Rosemi Mederos. She is still in Miami where she lives with her husband, two children and two dogs.
